Once I discovered the weak equalizer I gave up as there was no point investigating it further. It has an enormous number of tweaks though I never did find out how to make use of or remove the ?-marks on the now playing screen. Up until then this was looking like it might be the player for me. Unfortunately this is where the Blackplayer fails me, by only providing a very rough 5 band equalizer. While some headphones do sound good without equalization, I have yet to find a pair that can't be improved with equalization. I have many headphones and I will continue to acquire more for the joy of trying new ones.
